Kennedi | Class of 2018 | West Linn High School
From the minute I spoke to Kennedi’s mom, Lisa, on the phone, I immediately knew we were going to have a fabulous shoot. Kennedi is a West Linn High School Senior and graduates in 2018. I have photographed several girls from West Linn and it seems they all know each other. Go figure huh? Anyway, as we planned out the session she was looking for outdoor shots that involved water, Oregon trees, but also wanted to add some architectural elements to her session.
We found a location that was perfect for the trees and water. She was a trooper and even got in a creek leading into the Willamette River, which [to me] was a bit murky and muddy. However, I kept her in the small rapids that were pretty shallow and had a lot of water movement. I stayed on the embankment :)
I was a very hot day and we were all melting. After shooting in location one, we headed to downtown Lake Oswego where we had scouted out some cool stairs and some architectural elements we thought she might like. We were right. She loved them all.
I wanted to create some dramatic lighting and to avoid being at the mercy of the sun, I continued to use my Profoto B1 lights (for all you photographer techies out there) which is what I use to create my signature high-fashion studio look outside. At the end of the shoot, we all high-fived and called it a day.
Here are some of the images from the day…. Ciao.
